Trick-or-Treating in San Diego rated pretty sweet

The pumpkins are resting comfortably on the doorstep, the costumes are all picked out and the pillow cases ready for filling with candy – Halloween has arrived. But for the ardent candy collector, the serious business of trick-or-treating requires research and a plan of attack. Plotting the best route can make the difference between the joys of a full-sized candy bar versus the dreaded candy corn. A new report from SmartAsset helps goblins and ghouls find the best cities to trick-or-treat.

To find these frighteningly delicious trick-or-treat routes, several metrics were evaluated including housing costs, crime rates, weather and share of residents under 14 years old. As a result, it was found that San Diego ranked 24 on the national scale. Chula Vista came in at number 13 and vista was ranked 16th best place for trick-or-treaters.

These places collectively make the Greater San Diego region a wickedly sweet place to spend this spooky day.

Meanwhile, conforming no-point 30-year fixed mortgage rates are averaging 2.875 percent and 15-year rates are near 2.25 percent.
