A new study proves what many Americans have known all along: pleasant neighbors can make homeowners happier. According to a survey conducted by StorageCafe, a storage unit search site, satisfaction with one’s neighbors can impact how homeowners feel about where they live.
The survey of 11,000 Americans nationwide, found that 67 percent respondents are happy with their neighbors and feel a strong sense of community. On a local level, some cities are more neighborly than others. Indianapolis was ranked as the most neighborly place to live in the U.S. with more than half of residents saying they would recommend their neighborhood to others.
San Diego was rated as the 25th most neighborly town in the U.S. with 59 percent of San Diegans saying they feel satisfied with their neighbors and 56 percent stating they feel a sense of community.
Meanwhile, conforming no-point 30-year fixed mortgage rates are averaging 3.0 percent and 15-year rates are near 2.25 percent.
