The iconic home featured in the film “A Nightmare of Elm Street” has been sold in Los Angeles for $2.98 million. A property well known to horror flick fans, the three-bedroom Dutch Colonial on the tree-lined Elm Street was a focal point in 1984’s Wes Craven’s Freddy Krueger movie. The $3 million price tag is about 98 percent more expensive than nearby homes, according to Realtor.com.
The abode of character Nancy Thompson has undergone major renovations since the film was shot. The home is much brighter, whiter and airier than the film depicts it and the blood-red door seen in the movie is now painted a stately black, according to a description of the listing from CNN.
The property was initially listed last fall for $3.25 million.
Meanwhile, conforming no-point 30-year fixed mortgage rates are averaging 3.0 percent and 15-year rates are near 2.25 percent.
