‘Christmas Story’ house available for rent

Just like the Home Alone house outside of Chicago, the iconic home featured in the 1983 holiday classic, “A Christmas Story,” became available for a stay during the holidays. Brian Jones, owner of the Christmas Story House & Museum located in Cleveland, announced that the tourist attraction was open for a minimum two-night stay at a rate of $3,995 per night.

Guests will have the opportunity to interact with a “fragile” leg lamp, BB gun and drink plenty of Ovaltine. Up to six guests will have access to the Christmas Story House’s third-floor loft space that includes a living room, kitchen and bathroom.

The famed Home Alone house was featured in a recent Airbnb promotion where raffle winners could spend the night among all of Kevin McCalister’s’ booby traps.

Meanwhile, this Christmas, conforming no-point 30-year fixed mortgage rates are averaging 3.0 percent and 15-year rates are near 2.25 percent.
