It seems oxymoronic that America’s Finest City’ is also one of America’s rattiest. According to a new report from Orkin, an Atlanta-based pest control company, the San Diego metropolitan area has been ranked among the 50 ‘rattiest’ cities. San Diego’s inclusion in the rat-pack is based on new rodent treatments in a given region.

The report ratted out San Diego’s infestation last week and noted that the visibility of rodents has increased during the pandemic as restaurants closed and rats relocated to newer food sources. The San Diego region ranked 19th on the list. The top five cities consisted of Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, Washington D.C. and San Francisco.

The only other California city to join the rat race was Sacramento ranked at number 36 nationwide.
