California’s most expensive house listing could be second-highest ever
If it actually sells for its $160 million price tag, a 22-acre oceanfront compound in Carpinteria, California could become the second-highest price for a home sale ever. It is currently the most expensive property for sale in the state.

The estate includes two custom homes for a combined total of 10 bedrooms and 21 bathrooms across more than 14,000 sqaure feet of living space. An arched wall of glass lines the living room to take in the breathtaking costal views and a private stone pathway leads directly to the beach.

The current title of most expensive home ever sold in California currently belongs to the famed Warner Estate in Beverly HIlls which was purchased by Amazon founder Jeff Bezos from David Geffen last year for $165 million.

Meanwhile, conforming no-point 30-year fixed mortgage rates are averaging 2.75 percent and 15-year rates are near 2.00 percent.
